Sidetracking to Fathers' Day 2008

Alright, before I continue with entries of Japan trip 2008, here's a short write up of the poorer cousin of Mothers' Day.
Sad but true, Fathers' Day always tends to be more low key than Mothers' Day.
We took Dad to Central Mall whereby he had a good number of restaurants to choose from. We skipped Tung Lok and Tomton although I kinda like to try the latter some other time. In the end, after much deliberation, he 'settled' for Waraku.
My parents are camera shy folks but we took a couple of them in loving poses. I will refrain from putting them up online (maybe Mum will freak out if she knows of her photos circulating in cyberspace-so yea...)

Waraku Given the Vote of Confidence (Be warned-Portions are huge!)

I make a Silly Peace sign in photos for a reason. Guess why?
I find it hard to smile into an inanimate camera. This makes it easier. Bizarre? Perhaps. True? Totally. By the way, I love the baggy island dress I was wearing that day. It was love at first sight for it reminds me of a Monet masterpiece.

First Day Out in Tokyo

Been a while since I posted pictures of myself online. Indeed, some friends on blogosphere sounded the alarm that if I don’t do that in the near future, they will forget the way I look. ;-(

Thing is, I have to confess that I am an amateur when it comes to taking self portraits. In fact, they are quite a chore to take. This perpetuates the vicious cycle-lack of practice, onerous task, bad shots, and aversion to self photography.

Oh, whatever! =P

To be honest, I didn’t have a clue where I was going after shooting these pictures. With the spirit of a city explorer, I headed out on foot to goodness knows where in Shibuya.

Day 1 Continued (By Day and By Night Slideshow)

These shots are all taken from the window of my hotel room. Being on Level 35 helps a lot. Now I understand why people will pay top dollar for an apartment in the 'air'.

Slideshow for Tokyo Day 1 (Afternoon)

Although the flight is a mere 7 hours and the A380 makes the journey bearable, I was rather tired by the time I checked into the hotel. Nevertheless, the superb view perked me up briefly and inspired these photos of the room's amenities.

Let me know if you are unable to see this slideshow from Photobucket.
